We are still thinking about how awesome Compass to Care’s Bubble Fun Run 5K & 1 Mile was yesterday! We had 280 participants on a perfect sunny morning in Park Ridge. Our volunteers were absolutely incredible, even when they got soaked in bubbles, as they created a really fun event for our runners. We even had neighbors come out to cheer our runners on, and even offer assistance. This totally warmed our hearts. People really are good in this world. Yesterday was proof of that!
In addition to our sponsors, this event was only possible because of one incredible woman, Anna Polyak. She volunteered to coordinate the entire event, was on the course at 4am and who knows what time she left yesterday afternoon. We are so grateful to her and for everyone who came out to support Compass to Care.
We had so many people stop us to tell us how much fun they had at the Bubble Fun Run! In addition to the kids races, where all kids under the age of 7 got to be the first to run through the bubbles and get a medal at the end, we had participants run and walk both the 5K and 1 Mile that weaved through the beautiful streets of Park Ridge. And the bubbles were fun to run through and play in after the race was over!
If you missed it, you really missed a good one! Don’t miss it next year! :
We would also like to recognize Lamar for putting up 2 billboards to promote our Bubble Fun Run!! This was the first time Compass to Care had a billboard and we were all super excited!!
Congratulations to our top 3 runners: James Komperda, Thomas Estke, and Garett Sillanpaa!!!
