There’s nothing like an early morning concert, a delicious breakfast, and an inspirational speaker to get your month off to a great start! Compass to Care’s 5th Annual Dubuque Breakfast Benefit was a HUGE success, raising over $65,000 to help kids with cancer travel to treatment!
We cherish every opportunity to share the mission of Compass to Care, and the story behind it. And we feel blessed that so many of you took time out of your busy week to join us for this special day celebrating kids with cancer.
11-year old Jordyn Gourley’s heartfelt account of her successful journey through cancer was the highlight of the morning, leaving everyone filled with emotion. It was such a blessing to have Jordyn and her dad, Eric, share this with everyone.
We also heard from college student Connor Watson, who recounted his recent fundraising campaign and presented a check for $1,144.
Last, but certainly not least, was the $10,000 check presentation by Rick Petitgout on behalf of 100+ Men Who Care of the Tri-States. His passion for Compass to Care was obvious to everyone. These amounts are in addition to the $65,000 raised by the Breakfast Benefit! Wow!
Once again, thank you to all of our sponsors. We could not have held this amazing event without you – and we are ever so grateful for your generosity.
Thank you to everyone who made us part of their day and joined us at the Grand River Center, including:
Jordyn & Eric Gourley, our volunteers, family & friends of Jordyn, our supporters, those of you who wanted to learn more about Compass to Care, 100+ Men Who Care, Connor Watson, Terry Slade and Hempstead’s Penn Avenue choir, Vanessa Irene and Neal Ruff (our photographers), and of course, Haley Flesch & the Grand River Center staff! You all made this event the enormous success that it was.
