Mike is one of Compass to Care’s newest Associate Board members. We recently sat down (virtually) and learned a little more about him!
- Tell us a little about yourself. I am an Accounting Manager at Echo Global Logistics. I am a big time sports fan and actually used to be a Sports Reporter before I became an accountant. I love the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and University of Illinois sports. Also big movie buff!
- How did you find out about Compass to Care? I found out about Compass to Care through Doug Hong who I work with and is on the Board of Directors.
- How long have you been an Associate Board Member? I have been an associate member for 5 months, I joined in July 2020. Since we have been unable to host our associate board meetings in-person, hold our annual Gala, or volunteer at other Compass to Care events due to COVID-19 I am really looking forward to being able to meet everyone soon!
- What is your favorite thing about being on the Associate Board? I love that we get to contribute to helping so many kids. I also love that our ideas are put to action and make such a big impact on so many kids lives. Whether it’s the Associate Board’s annual gala or volunteering at the 5K and other events throughout the year I’m happy we can come together to raise money for such a great cause.
- What do you hope Compass to Care will achieve in the future? I hope the organization continues to grow and is able to help families in need from all over the country.
- What is your personal “compass” in life? I lost a very close friend a few years ago and he had a famous motto he would always tell people….Rock The Planet. What he meant by that was make every day special, be kind, help others and make a positive impact in the world. So my personal compass in life is to Rock The Planet each and every day!
