Christine Rapp started as Compass to Care’s Program Manager in 2016. Having grown up in Dubuque, it is only fitting that she is based in our office there. After going away to college, and then moving even further away from home, she came back to Dubuque to raise her daughter and be near her family. She has 30+ years of varying computer technology (no, really) and customer service related experiences (she started young), mostly revolving around the communication field, due in large part to her BA in Magazines/Media Graphics from Drake University (go Bulldogs!).
Christine uses these skills to her advantage by being able to adapt to the situation at hand and keep things running in the background. However, she is not afraid to step out front and lead when necessary. Before life led her to Compass to Care, Christine helped begin a massive shrine restoration project at a local cemetery, where fundraising efforts have gotten off to a fast start. She always enjoys finding new and creative ways to fundraise and promote.
In her spare time, Christine enjoys spending time with her family, playing cards and games (euchre anyone?), bowling, and recreational photography. She loves to travel, although doesn’t often get the opportunity. (Although she did make it to Chicago twice this year – go Cubs!)
Coming from a large family, Christine has been touched by many different forms of cancer and illness. But none hit closer to home than when her dad was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in 2007, and passed away because of it in 2009. She knows firsthand how hard it is to handle the day-to-day things (that don’t go away), while trying to get a loved one the best possible care, all while praying for a miracle. She is excited to be working at Compass to Care and to be able to help make this journey easier for others.
