Kids Wash Cars for Kids with Cancer

The weather could not have been more perfect for the Neil Armstrong Elementary School‘s Young Leaders Car Wash for Kids with Cancer on Saturday, September 27th.  This is the third year that these third, fourth, and fifth graders have given up their free time on a Saturday to wash cars and to raise money to help kids with cancer travel for treatment.

The kids worked hard for the entire two hours, where cars consistently lined up for a special cleaning, and raised almost $400 to donate to Compass to Care!! Of course the work was mixed with a little water fun, as the kids took time spraying each other with the hose. (Thank goodness it was a really hot Saturday!!)

A very special thank you to Principal Dr. Lisa Stevenson, teachers, Danielle Breier and Scott Berg, for coordinating the kids and the event and helping the kids get the cars clean!
