Host Your Own Event

A great way for student, individuals, and schools to support the mission of Compass to Care is by hosting their own fundraising gathering with family and friends.

FIRST: You invite your guests to CELEBRATE YOUR birthday, anniversary, school event, or any special reason to bring friends and family together.

THEN: Instead of having your guests bring you a gift, you ask for a donation to Compass to Care (or make it the admission fee to your event).  Even if it is optional, most people will donate something and every little bit counts! You can use your online fundraising page to get the donations. Or you can collect cash or checks at your event and send them to the Compass to Care office. (Be sure to let us know what the occasion is!)

THAT’S IT!
Celebrating Your event with Compass to Care is an easy way to add a little more meaning to your celebration!

FUNdraising Tips

We have some additional ideas to help your reach your fundraising goal:

Match a Gift – ask friends, family, and/or a local business to match the amount of money you or your organization raises.

Honor Someone – have a tribute for someone who you know in your community or family who has battled cancer or dedicated their time to spread awareness about cancer.

Sell merchandise – increase your donations by selling merchandise that creates Compass to Care pride and opens up opportunities for individuals to donate in an alternative way. Not sure what to sell? Compass to Care makes it easy. For example, have your guests Buy a Dina Doll to keep their child, or any child, company no matter where they are. They can also Give a Dina Doll to a child with cancer. You could also sell Replace The Lace shoelaces.

Get Sponsorships – look for sponsors to promote your event and display their logo at your event.
