Every week (and sometime more) for 2 1/2 years… That is how long Lillian is going to be traveling almost 90 miles from her home to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria IL for the treatment that can cure her from cancer. Compass to Care will be by her side on this journey by helping her parents pay for the necessary expenses to get her there.
This Fashion Show will ensure Compass to Care has the means to help Lillian, and many many more children just like her, as they fight and travel for a cure from cancer.
We are thrilled that Kevin Grace will serve as the emcee for our FASHION SHOW 2014!
Life suddenly changed for Kevin Grace after being cast on HGTV’s Design Star Season 6. This opportunity to show the world his distinct vision affirmed the decision to pursue a creative path that was always meant to be.
Directly following his 2011 on-air debut, Kevin launched his brand/business—Kevin Grace Design. Kevin has a reoccurring segment on ABC’s Windy City Live “Kevin Grace, Save my Space”, which is the ultimate expression of his way of giving back to those in need. Kevin also recently joined the Steve Harvey Show as the Set Designer.
Each year we choose very special people to be our fashion show models. This year, we have connected with women who have been touched by cancer in some way. Some are fighting. Some are survivors. Some have been caregivers. Their personal experiences have led them to this moment, where they are stepping on the runway to create an amazing show for all of our guests with one goal in mind- to help as many children as possible get to cancer treatment.
These women will be escorted by members of the Chicago Police Department.
" I had to quit my job to stay with my son. We were in no way able to take all of this on. I cry when I think about how helpful Compass to Care has been to us. Without foundations like yours, we would be in a world of hurt.
Sometimes it feels like my choice is to either pay for our bills at home or pay for the trip for Charvion’s chemo. Compass to Care has gives us the money for travel so I no longer have to make such a difficult decision. I appreciate it so much.
